How to Successfully Fill and Drain Your Waterbed
Filling and/or draining your softside or hardside waterbed is easier than ever when you use the Blue Magic Fill and Drain Kit. Everything you need is included, making your task much easier.
Be sure to unplug your waterbed heater prior to filling or draining your waterbed. Always use a clean, uncontaminated hose to prevent unwanted bacteria from entering your bed through a dirty hose.
How To Fill Your Waterbed With and Indoor Faucet:
The faucet adapter will make it possible to adapt the threads of the filling hose to the threads of the faucet. Remove the air screen from the faucet (A). Attach hose to Faucet Adapter (B). Attach the Perfect Union® to the remaining end of the hose. Pull up on Pull-Cap tabs to extend the valve and remove Pull-Cap (C). Connect Perfect Union® to the hose, then connect to mattress valve (D). Fill mattress with warm, not hot, water until you reach the desired fill level. Remove hose. Add one 8 oz. bottle Blue Magic® Waterbed Conditioner and one 8 oz. Bottle Blue Magic® Bubble Stop (if necessary) following directions on bottles. Unscrew Perfect Union® and replace Pull-Cap®.
NOTE: If mattress has been in storage and conditioners were not added, add two 8 oz bottles of Blue Magic® Waterbed Conditioner.
How To Drain Your Waterbed With Super Pump
Screw the Faucet Adapter to the faucet (A) and connect the Super Pump to the adapter. Attach hose to the Super Pump (E). Attach Perfect Union® to the remaining end of the hose. Pull up on Pull-Cap to extend the valve and remove Pull-Cap (C). Attach Perfect Union® to mattress valve and push in so it is below the waterline. Push up and turn the bottom of the Super Pump to the right until it is tight. Turn on water. When water fills hose and runs into mattress, turn the Super Pump's bell to the left and pull down (F). After 1-3 minutes of draining, reduce flow from faucet by two-thirds. Faucet must be running continuously for the pump to work.
NOTE: If draining mattress for storage leave a few gallons of water in mattress. Add 8 oz. of Waterbed Conditioner prior to storage. Repeat every 8-12 months. In a fiber bed, repeat every 4-6 months.
