The Juniper shallow fill softside waterbed mattress looks like a standard mattress but uses water as the source of contouring support. The bladder is zipped inside a mattress cover and held in place by a perimeter of support foam. Because a softsde waterbed looks just like a regular innerspring mattress many people prefer this type of waterbed over the traditional hardside waterbed. You will still experience the same contouring and pressure free support of water, but you do not need a wood frame in order for the water mattress to keep its form. With a shallow fill waterbed mattress you have a choice of four bladders to fit your specific needs. If you and your partner have differing comfort and support preferences you may wish to consider a dual bladder. You can control the fill level of each side of the mattress independently, allowing you and your partner to choose your own preferred comfort level, from plush to firm, by filling with more or less water.

Love love love this water bed. Returned a beauty rest memory foam that cost 3x as much because it was so hot and uncomfortable and purchased the waterbed instead. It’s our second so I knew it would be super comfortable just took some time to find it on line to order.

Shipping took forever with this bed. Finally, it arrived and I started putting it together...(had one previously so knew what to do) its Not made as well as my old one was and is mid grade if anything. I would order the next up next time around. The liner doesn't fit exactly they way it should, the mattress bulges on the sides if you fill tubes to a medium firm, the top is almost paper thin. I slept on a soft sided waterbed for abut 15 years and then went back to a regular mattress about 12 years ago, and I don't think that I had experienced a good nights sleep since then. I finally had to do something, so I ordered a King size bed from Boyds. I chose option of the tubes, had no trouble putting it together and have found heaven in a bed. I have been sleeping on it now for a couple of weeks and have had more nights where I've fallen asleep and slept through the night than I have in the previous six months! This waterbed is perfect for me. I am finally able to sleep cool without heat retention problems and every position I move to is comfortable. I would like to see marking on the tubes for firmness available for filling laying down in addition to standing up. My wife and i had waterbeds for 40 years, I was in an accident and my kids thought Dad can't get in and out of a hard side waterbed so they took the bed apart and put in a traditional matress. After four years I had had enough I was in such sholder pain I could not sleep. We looked on line and Boyds Beds was impressed.So we got a soft side waterbed from the first night on NO PAIN. I have told some of our friends about this they think we have lost our minds by going back to a water bed. But who cares what they think. this is a great bed and we love it. After sleeping on an old fashioned waterbed forever my husband agreed it was time to upgrade. We inherited a beautiful bedroom set and our old ugly wood frame did not match at all. We picked a king size bed with the two sides. We both love that we still have the waterbed feel but can finally have a bedroom with nice furniture. And all for less than $1000! Thanks Boyd! We use to hate bedtime and spent as little time as possible in bed. Now I can't get my wife OUT of bed! Seriously, we got the Juniper a little over a year ago because the $2500+ latex mattress we got to replace our uncomfortable box spring was killing us. My wife is going through 'the change' and was overheating every night no matter what we tried, while I have back issues and always woke up stiff, sore, and unrested. The Juniper changed all that. We can both sleep wonderfully now as it doesn’t retain heat for her, and gives me the support I need. Setup wasn't too bad, I nailed the water level on my wife's side first try, but I needed a bit more firmness so added a little water to my side after a week or so. Wife constantly tells me how good I did on finding this mattress. Never going back to box spring or latex! We got the 4” foam filled tubes. When you first lay on the bed there is a small wave, but after that there is no wave sensation at all. Completely satisfied with this purchase!! (Posted on 3/23/2016)
