We bought this Constellation Lumbar Waterbed Mattress to replace a king baffled water mattress that we had for years. The bed came very quickly, but the box was tore opened and re-taped at the end. Luckily the bed was not damaged. It also had a name written on the side that was not the name of the mattress that we had bought. I emailed them and we had a prompt reply that answered all our questions. When filling the mattress I thought it was way too soft for a lumbar support mattress, but after the fibers soaked up more water it became firmer. I would say this is one of the better water bed mattresses that we have ever had in our 50 years of owning water bed mattresses. We have our fingers crossed that this mattress will last as long as our last one.
We also bought a new heater for the mattress and that was not as positive. We had a digital display before and that was great. The one we bought here on this site is very hard to see the numbers. The red light on the unit is so hard to see you have to put your face right on it to see if a light is on or not.
So to finish this up we would buy this mattress again, but we would find a digital heater control to compliment the mattress.

Had a Boyd mattress for ten years and decided to replace it. Prior mattress was a wave-less and decided to add lumbar support. So far my wife thinks that feature is helping her. Was extra careful about fill level as we had a tendency to overfill. This bed seems to have even less motion as we get in and out of bed. I did not notice a mattress smell. I had a waterbed for years, but when the mattress got a seam leak, I went to a foam mattress. It was OK, but when I started to have lower back issues, I went back to a waterbed. I'm glad I did. I love the Lumbar mattress. Good price, arrived promptly, and in good condition. I took 1 star off for three reasons. The mattress I received had another brand name on it. I called Boyd and they said it was the same mattress, but it is sold under different names. If they had included a packing slip with the order, they could have mentioned this without me having to call. Lastly, its been a month and there is still a slight plastic odor. It’s been a couple of weeks now & the mattress is still as sloshy as an old time plain waterbed. I’m so disappointed! I’m afraid I was sent the wrong mattress.
