I bought this mattress just under 3 years ago, and it recently started leaking around the fill/drain valve. When I reported this to Boyd, they immediately started the process of replacing it with no hassle whatsoever; the replacement has since been received and is completely correct.
I have been using waterbed mattresses for more than 40 years, and this product is as good as any I have had, and is as waveless as I could desire. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that the fill/drain valve seemed flimsy from the start and I was not surprised that there was where it started leaking. I suggested that they make this more robust in the future; hopefully they will do this, and have an absolutely ideal product. (Posted on 10/31/2023) - Great for price Review by Waterbed man

Came in couple of days to west coast. Boyd sent wrong liner size. A phone call has correct one sent the following day.
The mattress is old school type. Not a lot of fancy bells and whistles. Vinyl is thin side of better ones on market, but very consistent and durable feeling. It's green with one drain valve. Two valves may of got this 5 stars, you only get one valve.
Comes with the 3 layers of vinyl, plus a closed cell float sheet. Foam pad is almost cut to frame size.
It's comfortable. Could use 1 layer of lumbar, but they don't make one. Low tension surface on head and foot area would make more level sleeping surface.
Best deal out there is from boyd. Stay away from innomax and waterbed doctor. After having waterbeds for over 30 years, I can tell you they are both cancer and should not be patronized. (Posted on 1/25/2020) - Great Review by Jboy

Buyer beware! The smell on this bed is horrible and won't go away. I received this mattress around September and smell is still there. I live in a two story older home with bedroom's up. The whole up stairs smells of a strong vynal (sp) smell and today my daughter was downstairs in my living room and could smell it. It's bad. I sleep on the couch now downstairs because I can't stand the smell. It's real. Don't buy this water bed mattress from Boyd. My first waterbed I had I received used and it lasted me for approx. 25 yrs. Hopefully this one will come close to that. I can't say enough about the customer service. They are excellent! After setting up my bed on a Sun night, I realized it had a leak. I contacted Boyd's the next morning, and they had a new one out to me by that Sat. So far, so good with the new one. I slept on it for the first night last night and it was very comfortable. It has a bit more wave movement in it than my original one, but it does not bother me any. I was a bit annoyed with the slow arrival of the mattress since it took 10 days. That being said, it is a very comfortable mattress. I am pleased with the price and quality. After we received the bladder I let it air out for a couple of days, but we still have a strong vinyl odor. When we filled the mattress it fit better than the original. the bladder is very comfortable and it did not take long till we used it. Other than the odor it is excellent. (Posted on 8/17/2017)
