Bought and easily installed in 2013. I figured it would last. Is 8 years long or short to y’all? Since it has no moving parts, remained plugged in on 110 volts and hasn’t even been touched in those 8 years and it has not been exposed to moisture I expected it to last longer. Apparently I was wrong. Warranty only good for one year. But at $69 it did the job well during those 8 years. I’ll order another one since nobody local has them in stock. Hopefully I’ll get it within a week. I would recommend this product. Maybe I expect too much. (Posted on 9/9/2021) - I have not drained Mom's bed yet. It is summertime in Texas. I purchased a new mattress and this heater, got it all together and noticed heater control was pretty warm, checked it with laser thermometer & it was 104° , called the 800# and talked to jason, he sent me a new heater by the end of the week. It's the same model as the one I bought more than 30 years ago except for the fact this model is more energy efficient at 300watts compared to 400watts and you're using a thermistor instead of a thermostat. But you still have the same ol' dim light on the temperature dial. Makes me feel right at home. Keep up the good work!!!! (Posted on 8/10/2019)
