PRESIDENT'S MESSAGEOn November 17, 1977, I opened my first retail waterbed mattress store, Royal Waterbeds, in Columbia, Missouri. The 600 sq. ft. space, a former dry cleaner, was only big enough to display six beds. As the only employee, I sold beds all day and then, after closing the store at 7pm, delivered and installed the beds until midnight, six days a week.What started as one retail location in Columbia, Missouri, has grown to what exists today as the Boyd Group, with four separate but related companies: The Bedroom Store, Boyd Specialty Sleep, Accent Furniture and Blue Magic. is the retail arm of the company with 6 locations in the St. Louis, MO metro area. manufactures Specialty Sleep mattresses, including Boyd Flotation brand waterbeds and softside beds. |
